Christopher Kane 4 TopShop

I was looking through the lookbook for Christopher Kane's collaberation for TopShop which is about to hit the shops.
But I must admit I didn't like it at all!

The only thing I kinda liked was this dress below. But I still wouldn't pay £90 for it.

A long time ago I learned that I must not buy something just because it's an affordable piece of designer.
It's not worth it.

Space Invader

This is Space Invader, a street artists from Paris.
I just watched an interview with him on Wooster (see Sep 12) and god he was so cool - and French!

He says he is invading the world and has already invaded Paris, London, NY and Tokyo, but also some poor cities.

He was also invited to exhibit in a gallery but didn't then want to bring in his street art. Instead he wanted to come up wih a new idea, but that was still him.

So he started working with Rubik's Cubes!
Brilliant.

1 minute per year

I got my last birthday present last night. Little late, but still.
My beau finally finished the song he made me!

- 24 whole minutes of wonderful, magical dubstep !

It's got Beatles and Hendrix mixed in and I LOVE IT!

We're in the studio now, listening to it on the big speakers because it sounds so much better than coming out of the laptop. And I'm watching him sitting there making sure the sounds comes out right.... And he's wonderful....
He's in his jumper looking cozy, hasn't shaved for a week (he says I'm the only woman in the world who likes a beard), drinking his tea and smoking his spliff. There are pictures on the walls from when he was younger and played base in a band.

If he starts speaking French now too, I would die.

Way gone, way gone....

Madonna

They have a 'Greatest Pop Star' competition on Channel4 and they just showed the artists we can vote for.
There are some great artists, like Take That, Britney and Pink.
(How can Madonna be put amongst people like that? Surely she's a league of her own.)

This is why she must win:

Right from the start she was herself rather than a production.

As the gorgeous woman she is, she showed other women not to be afraid to 'be a woman'.
Women can also take place and have our voices heard and we can also be tough and our own.

She also dared to be human!
Humans have needs and our bodies are complex, but we should not be scared of learning about how our bodies work and looks.
She helped us see that sex is one of the most natural things in the world and we should never feel shy to explore the sexual needs and desires.

Even at the age of 50 she reinvents herself. Who says that because you are a certain age, you have to behave that age?
You're only as old as you feel.
Madonna is not ready to quit just yet. Go girl!

I tried to find one of my favourite videos, Justify my Love, but it's close to impossible to find. I beleive they have removed them from the web.
People these days don't know how to deal with things.

Why are we so easily offended?

This is the newcomer our of the studio tonight.

I am so excited about my new Diesel's!!
They were knocked down from £230 to £60 and I'm so in love....

And the super sweet and comfy jacket/sweater from James Lakeland was down from £130 to £30.

Birthday

Today is my birthday!
For once it feels quite nice. But I've lost count which 21st it is now....

Got plenty hugs and cakes and wishes at work; bought myself some presents; and got a few from beau when I got home.
He made me this beautiful painting of the mask! Using my stuff from my studio but still. : )
And now I think he is working on making a song for me! I suspect that's the last present that he says he will give me tomorrow...

Fountain man

I made this into a stencil a while back.

Below is the final result.

New stencil

I started working on a new stencil today of the picture above.
I'm in the cutting stages now and it's coming along nicely!

Urban Prankster

This website, Urban Prankster, is filled with these funny little jokes!

We should all head out to town and fill it with these random things ; )

Hooked

These tops are all on TopShop's website and I can't beleive I actually want them all!
But they are around £30 a piece and I never spend that much money on ONE item.

Just imagine how much clothes you can get for that at a charity shop!!
But ok, say I buy one of them then at least. After all it's fun to have cool tops in the closet!

- But then which one??

I put a bid in on this jacket yesterday at Ebay. Think it's a day or so left and I was the only bidder of $25.
But just watch - I'll get an email when it's finished where it will say it went for $200 in the end!

International shipping?

Don't you just hate when you desperately want to buy something, and you find it on the web, then realise they don't ship....... !

Just happened again with Monki, the Swedish clothing brand.

Sakristan

And I loved this selection tab while browsing on her website!

You won't be able to stop watching this !

sam3

I don't really know why, but looking at this photo today gets me so inspired!
I don't even know what kind of inspiration....

Here below is Sam3 @ AGENCY OF THE URBAN SUBCONSCIOUS.
I like him because he doesn't only make his art on a building wall, but also on paper and ceramics.

He would be considered more of a 'real' artist, rather than a graff artist.
He is even exhibiting at a gallery in California.

crazyness

I spotted this nice little metal cuff by Fendi and thought 'hold up, I could definately wear this!'.
So I went to see how much it was.

£150 at net-a-porter and £90 at Ebay!!
shiiiiiit..... who spends that much money on a piece of accessory??
Not me.

Foreplay

So for such a long time I've walked around trying to get sick.
(= off work)
I finally got sick at the parking lot in Hackney last weekend.
But now being sick = no party tonight !!

oh no.....

Foreplay - tonight - Corbet Place, Brick Lane - 6pm-11.30pm

Rex the dog can DJ too!

lo*kee

Went to the Elbow Room in Westbourne Grove on Sunday but unfortunately I missed Pablo play... But no worries - great party anyway!

Got to lo*kee afterwards. Amazing place in a yard in the industrial area of Hackney.
Except you have to pee in festival-type-toilets....

hot tunes

Still listening to my dubs like a mad woman.

Discivered Beatport where they have pleeenty good electronic dance music. Just search 'dubstep' or go into the 'dubstep' category and there's lots of goodies!

Here are two favourites:
Calvin Harris Doorly remix
Temper Trap Doory remix

Lucas Ossendrijver

oooohhh....... Look at these lovely hi-tops....

It's from the Selby's visit to Lucas Ossendrijver.
He's a fashion designer at Lanvin for men.
