Dante's Inferno

Last night I went to Hell's Half Acre in the Old Vic Tunnels behind Leake Street.
Set up by Lazarides, this was honestly the coolest event of the year!
And it was so much more than just a gallery exhibition - it was an experience.
I loved every bit of it and I wish I could spend every evening in those tunnels, being amazing by what was in there... but unfortunately the tickets are all out...

One of the most amazing things about the exhibit was not the art itself, but the lighting on the art and the shadows this made in the tunnels.

The pigeon-ball did smell a bit.... but pretty cool nontheless.

........

I did wonder how a "3D collage" was made...
By Jonathan Yeo. Cut out of porn magazines.

........

My favourite favourite piece on this show was this video installation of exploding fire.
I cannot describe how much I enjoyed this!
I stood mesmerized for ages - watching the fire change shapes and mirror on the water underneath, as well as getting hypnotized by the sound.
I have a video but neither that or these pictures does it justice.

........

To exit the place you had to go through the mist of water.
Perhaps it was meant to cleanse you from hell and various sins....

Well done Lazarides!!
